Riverside House - Working title

A fictional novel with an otherworldly element

I am hugely enjoying writing this new novel. It is an idea that came to me after my siblings and I had to sell our family home on  the passing of our mother. I happened to hear a story about the inherited house of an acquaintance where the siblings had been unable to agree on whether it shoudl be sold or not. As a result the house, once loved, is standing empty and forgotten.

I wanted to write a story centred around this idea, bringing functional siblings to life and finding reason for their disagreement on inheriting something that must hold so many memories for them.

This is the plot so far…..

Riverside House is set in present day. It is a novel with an otherworldly element that gives dimension to the struggles of a family of siblings trying to agree in what to do with the family home they have inherited.

The family once knew how to laugh together, live together, love each other, but years later following a tragedy, the house now stands empty and slowly declining.

Inheriting the house, the siblings must come to a mutual agreement on what should happen to their once loved home. Can they meet again after so long? Can they resolve their differences? And can they begin to heal?
